India features in the Rio Olympic medals list as Sakshi Malik won the bronze medal in the wrestling 58 kgs category.
India finally featured in the Rio Olympic Titles List as Sakshi Malik, the Indian freestyle wrestler won the bronze medal in the wrestling 58 kgs category, becoming the first Indian female wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics for India in the Olympics.
Hailing from Haryana, Sakshi Malik, at the age of 18, she had victory at junior-level competitions. She won a Bronze at the 2010 Junior World Championships in the 59-kg category. She first came to the international limelight after taking home the Gold at the Dave Schultz International Wrestling Tournament (60-kg) in 2014. She won a silver medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She had also won the bronze medal at the Senior Asian Wrestling Championships in Doha in 2015.
This was her first participation in the olympics and had achieved the bronze medal in the 58 kgs category by beating Aisuluu Tynybekova from Kyrgyztan.
India defeated West Indies by an innings and 92 runs. The Captain Virat Kohli scored the record knock of double century, the first by the Indian Captain Overseas which makes this Test Series Special. Ashwin also scored Century which made India stronger over West Indies.
This has come as the first feather to Anil Kumble as a coach for our national cricket team.
India scheduled to play a total of three test matches against West Indies. The second test match would start from 30 July- 3 August, 2016 while the third test is scheduled at 9-13 August, 2016.

India all set to send its largest Olympic contingent for this Rio Olympic of more than 100 athletes while the previous highest was 83 was sent to London Olympics in 2012.
Indian Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra modi met the Rio Olympic bound athletes in Delhi on 4 July 2016 and spoke with every individual and wished them all the best. This is the very first time that the Prime Minister of India to do so to give a warm send- off event. While many of the participating athletes participated the event with Prime Minister, some did miss due to their training in abroad.
Though some of the best represented athletes would miss the participation in the Rio Olympic, the expectations are high that India would bag many medals this year.

Former Indian Cricket Captain Anil Kumble was selected as the head coach for the Indian Cricket team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Prior to the Indian Cricket Teams play against West Indies in July 2016, this appointment has been made. Till now, the Indian Cricket Team was performing under Ravi Shastri as the Team Manager. Anil Kumble has played for the Indian Cricket Team in 132 tests and 271 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and bagged 619 and 337 wickets respectively for the period from 1990- 2008.
This is the first time Kumble got the chance as a national team coach. He has been a mentor for two Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises, Royal Challengers- Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. He also served as a president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Chairman of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and head of the BCCI's technical committee. Currently, Kumble chairs the ICC cricket committee.
